As the months went on, the most exciting days were always the days we received new photos of Rogi and watch him grow. When we got his referral, he was only close to 7 pounds so he was a tiny little thing! He remained tiny for a little while:
We got submitted to court in February as Rogi continued to get bigger and more alert.
In March, he had still only grown to 8-9 pounds but was definitely developing and showing a personality!
On March 16th, we received the news we were waiting for! We were to appear in court in Ethiopia on May 18th. If we passed, we would become Rogi's parents. This was also a very special trip for us. The last day was our fifth wedding anniversary, and it was also my first time ever to fly! So we were very excited to go and see our tiny boy.
But then in April, we started hearing that Rogi was no longer so tiny:
By the time we had made it for court in May he was almost 15 pounds! We stepped on the plane on May 12th, 2011 ready to meet him for the first time.
