Decorating the Nursery

Neither Emily nor I are avid decorators.  We like things to look nice, but we're typically much more function over form type of people.  Our home study said that our house was "tastefully decorated", which I thought was a nice way of putting it!  Others like the decorations we do put up on the walls, but wonder when we are ever going to finish the job.

So when thinking about what to do for Rogi's nursery/room, we wanted to have something that would blend with the rest of the house but would pop just a little more.  For a while, it was hard to think about.  It seemed so long away, and we had been warned about finishing the nursery too early.  Once we passed court though we knew we needed to start moving!  So our nursery went from a plain room with white walls to this:

And some closeups:

Looking around the nursery reminds us of so many people we love.  One grandma made his blanket, and his grandfather helped put the crib together.  The other grandfather and grandmother were instrumental in getting the beautiful wall cling on the wall.  The walls themselves are a great reminder of another wonderful friend who helped us paint them.  Other friends helped us to get the furniture and the cling in the first place.  And of course everything makes us think of Rogi!

Every time I look at this nursery, I can't help but that about how much we love Rogi, and how many other people already love him too.  We can't wait until Rogi can enjoy it!

  1. So cute! Just wanted to say hi - I'm apart of the OAEG group but don't post much. We've been home with our son, Yohanis, for 5 months now.

Your little guy is absolutely adorable! Hoping it won't be long until he's in your arms again!
